Ngolwesihlanu umhla weshumi elinane kule yeKhala (14 July 2017) ibinguMbo nomXesibe kwaNoofisi Komkhulu eMgojweni eXhorha kwelamaBomvana. Le ibiyimini enkulu ngeyona ndlela, imini yokombathiswa kweNkosi kumaBomvana kwiNkqila iBomvana Traditional Council, uNkosi uVuyani Gwebindlala, Ah! Zwelikhanyile.

uNkosi u Zwelikhanyile ebethatha indawo kunina omzalayo umama uNoofisi Gwebindlala, iNkosikazi yongasekhoyo uNkosi uMelibhuwa kaVulindawo kwindlu yasekunene ka Nkosi uGwebindlala. UNkosi uGwebindlala kuNdlunkulu wakhe wabanonyana uNgubezulu, ozala uZwelenqaba uyise kaThandabantu. Umama uNoofisi ubelibambela-Nkosi iminyaka engamashumi amabini anesithoba, esalinde unyana wakhe u Zwelikhanyile ukuba akhule.

Imbali yesisizwe samaBomvana  ithi ayinzala kaNomafu owayengumntakwabo boNjanye lo uzala amaMpondomise, amaMpondo kunye namaXesibe. uNomafu, uNjanye kunye nabanye abantakwabo bona bezalwa nguNkosi uSibiside owayekhokele isizwe sabaMbo kwiminyaka eqikelelwa kwengaphezulu kwamakhulu amathandathu agqithayo. Iingcali zalembali zisaphikisana zibonisana ngeyona ndlela umlibo wesisizwe ohamba ngayo, ingakumbi emva phaya kulandawo yooNomafu. Imbali phofu injalo. Ibamfiliba kakhulu kulaminyaka yakudala kakhulu. Indawo ekuvanwa kuyo yinto yokuba amaBomvana ayinzala kaNjilo. Yena uNjilo azale uMgweda ozala uDibandlela ozala uZwetsha kuNdlunkulu, azale uMsila ekunene. Ingcali kwimbali yamaBomvana uBawo uMvulehlobo kaKholisile kaMhlana kaMoni kaNtshunqe kaGambushe kaJalamba kaTshezi, uthi, abaBomvana zezinye zezizwe ezinintsi ezachithala kumantla eThukela ngexesha lezidubedube ezasikho kula mmandla ngamaxesha e1700s. Uthi amaBomvana ayemi kunye namaNgwane bekufuphi kwindawo yamaZizi namaHlubi. Ngenxa yezo zidubedube, awushiya lamhlaba, awela imilambo emikhulu ekhangela indawo engcono apho angazinza khona. Ahamba de awela umlambo uMzimkhulu noMtamvuna, azinza kwindawo eyaziwa ngokuba yiMt Ayliff ngoku. Achithwa zezinye izizwe apho, ayakungena kwiKomkhulu lamaMpondo eLusikisiki. Ngeloxesha ke amaMpondo ayekhokelwe nguKumkani uNgqungqushe. Ahlala ixeshana eLusikisiki amaBomvana awela uMzimvubu ayozinza ngakumlambo uMngazi.

Inkokheli yawo ngeloxesha inguNkosi Mbili kaJalamba. Waye wabhubha ke uNkosi uMbili eshiya unyana uNgezana esemncinci. Isizwe sabona ukuba umninawe kaMbili onguGambushe makabambe indawo de akhule uNgezana. Ngenene wathi akuba mdala uNgezana, uGambushe wavuma ukuzinikela kuye iintambo zolawulo, kodwa isizwe asavuma, sathi sifuna ukukhokelwa nguGambushe sona. Lonto yenza ukuba uNgezana ayekubika kumalume wakhe uKumkani uNgqungqushe ngesi siganeko. UKumkani uNgqungqushe kuthiwa khange alibazise, wathi makuhlaselwe xa kunjalo, “Umkhonto wadlala emntwini”.  UGambushe kunye nesizwe sakhe bazama ngako konke okusemandleni kusiliwa idabi. uKumkani uNgqungqushe ngelishwa wawa kwelo dabi, wangcwatyelwa kanye kuloondawo awela kuyo, eDangwana.

Emveni kokuba engcwatyiwe uKumkani uNgqungqushe, kwakho ukruthakruthwano ngobukhosi  koonyana bakhe uPhakani noFaku. UPhakani wayengunyana kaNdlunkulu, ngoko ke inguye owayefanele ukuba athathe indawo kayise ngokwamasiko amaMpondo. Kodwa unina kukhangeleka ngathi woyisakala kulendlu, amaphakathi aKomkhulu enza icebo lokuba uMaMngcambe unina kaFaku, intombi kaKumkani uMngcambe kwelamaMpondomise, ibenguye ongena kulendlu inkulu, nangona inkulu yakhe, uFaku wayesele ekhulile, kwaye engaphambili nakuPhakani ngeminyaka. Zinintsi ke izizathu neengcaciso zokwenzekayo ngelaxesha, kodwa asizungena nzulu kulonto. Abanyana bakaNgqungqushe bayakuyisombulula ethafeni ingxaki yabo. UFaku wayencediswa ngabantakwabo uCinga, uSitata nabanye kunye neqela elinintsi kwalapha kwisizwe samaMpondo. Woyiswa apho uPhakani wayakungena kuGambushe kaJalamba kwelaBomvana. Kwathi kunjalo, kwafika uNogaya, oyinzala kaJekwa wasebeLungwini, wacebisa uGambushe ngento yokuba kukho umhlaba ongamiwanga mntu awubonileyo phesheya komlambo uMthatha, kodwa ngeneno komlambo uMbhashe. UNkosi wasele eyivile neyokuba lomhlaba wawunamadlaka amaXhosa, kunye neleKumkani yawo uTshiwo kaNgconde owangcwatyelwa eNgcwanguba. Kwakubonakala ukuba amaXhosa ake azinza kulamhlaba kuba amangcaba abo neenkokheli zawo ayekhona, nangona babesele begqithile nje bayokwakha kwezinye iindawo.

UNogaya lo wayeliphakathi laKomkhulu ekwangumthengisi wezikhumba zeMbabala. Wayelizula lonke ichweba lalammandla ezingela ekwarhweba nabanye abantu.

UNkosi uGambushe wathumela lona iphakathi lakhe eli linguNogaya kuKumkani uHintsa kwelamaXhosa ehamba nesigqeba sakhe, ngelithi makaye kucela imvume yokuba angene kulomhlaba uphakathi koMthatha noMbhashe ungaselwandlwe, kwaye aze futhi akhuselwe nakuhlaselo olunokwenziwa zezinye izizwe ezimngqongileyo.

Uthe akuwubeka umcimbi aze ngawo uNogaya, wavakala esithi uZanzolo, “Mfo wasebeLungwini masingeva ngendlebe nje kuphela, masibone ngamehlo”. Waba ugqibile ngelo ke uKumkani uHintsa.

Le ntetha yeKumkani yawashiya engayazi emakayise Komkhulu kuGambushe amaphakathi, kanti uNogaya wayeyibona icacile lento ithethwa nguKumkani wamaXhosa.

Wathi akufika kuNkosi uGambushe, wathi: “Nkosi yam, uKumkani uHintsa uthi masikhuphe nje umbuso, sizakuwunikwa umhlaba”. Umbuso ke ziinkomo eziye zikhutshwe sisizwe esingenelayo kumhlaba wesinye isizwe okanye uhlanga. Ngenene nangenyaniso wabonakala enovuyo uNkosi uGambushe kaJalamba kaTshezi, kuba wayesele ephile ubomi bentshontsho ixesha elide.

uMaxa kaGambushe wayikhupha inkabi yenkomo etyebileyo. Wayikhupha naye uMatyunjwa kaGambushe. Wayikupha eyakhe inkabi uNogaya kunye namanye amaphakathi, zatsho zantandathu. UNkosi uGambushe yena wakhupha ezine, zatsho zalishumi xa ziphelele. Zasiwa Komkhulu eGcuwa kuKumkani uZanzolo.

Wathi akufika uNogaya ehamba noNgcetane iNkosi yamaTshomane kunye namanye amaphakathi amaBomvana eGcuwa Komkhulu baxhelelwa inkabi etyebileyo egwangqa besamkelwa nguKumkani uZanzolo. Ngenene nangenyaniso wawanika amaBomvana umhlaba osuka echwebeni loMbhashe uye echwebeni loMthatha. Wabulela kakhulu uGambushe. Emveni kwalomini, ubudlelwana phakathi kwamaBomvana neKomkhulu lawo kwaZanzolo, laba lihle ngeyona ndlela. UKumkani uZanzolo wayeyikhuthaza kakhulu into yokuzekwa kweentombi zezizwe ezifikayo kwelamaXhosa. IKumkani le yayingathethi, koko, yatsho isenza ngokuba izeke intombi kaGambushe kwindlu yakhe yasekunene uNomsa. Wayilobola wayenza uNdlunkulu wakhe owazala uKumkani uSarhili kunye noMqoloza uyise kaNongxokozelo.

Wawulawula ke uNkosi uGambushe lomhlaba ezinze eXhorha wade wabe uyawa umthi omkhulu phaya koo1826. UGambushe ke yeyona Nkosi yazenzela igama kwimbali yamaBomvana. Yayilixesha elinzima kakhulu ke eli kwizizwe zakwaNtu kuba amadlagusha ayethyudisela ukungena ayokuma entla kweli lookhokho, nto leyo eyachaphazela izizwe zakwaNtu ukuba de zibe ziyangquzulana, ezinye zabe ziyabambisana kobobunzima.

UNkosi uGambushe uzele uNtshunqe, uSomndzaba, uMatyunjwa, uMaxa, iNkosazana uNomsa nabanye. UNtshuqe uzele uMoni, uNkintshana, nabanye. UMoni uzele uLanga, uThyali, Sirhunu, Mhlana, Ntabankulu noMakhwange. uLanga yena uzele uNgonyama, u Zwelibanzi neNkosazana uNopasi, lo wendela kuNkosi uMakinana kaMhala kaNdlambe, wazala uSilimela. uNgonyama uzele uGwebindlala, uGwebindlala wazala uNgubezulu kuNdlunkulu, noVulindawo ekunene. uVulindawo ke wazala uMelibhuwa owazimanya ngeqhina lomtshato noNoofisi, bazala iNkosi le ibisombathiswa, uNkosi uVuyani Gwebindlala, Ah! Zwelikhanyile! UNkosi uNgubezulu yena uzele uZwelenqaba. UNkosi uZwelenqaba watshata noNkosikazi uNobangile Gwebindlala bazala uThandabantu nabanye abantwana. UNkosikazi uNobangile ngoyena Nkosikazi ike yalibambela ixesha elide kweli lomdibaniso. Wazibamba zaqina iintambo ukususela kunyaka ka1979 kuzokuthi ga ngoku, ebambele unyana wakhe uThandabantu ekulindeleke ukuba naye athathe indawo kungekudala.
